Lining up with their favorite family members and getting ready to walk across the court. Everything hit at once as they realize the time has finally come to play their last game on home court. Your closest friends walk up to you with tears in their eyes as they hand over baskets of their favorite goodies. Sadly, after this game, they will have ended another chapter of their life and will begin a new one. Senior William Goodnight’s favorite memory was when he and Que Thomas fouled out with 20 seconds left in the game. “Our defense didn’t crack, but the opposing team held the ball until the last second,” Goodnight said. “They shot a floater that won the game, and we all couldn’t do anything but laugh.” The best memories aren’t always made on the court. “My favorite memories were made on the way to the games, and at the team meals,” basketball coach Adam Terry said. The seniors aren't the only ones who are sad to leave. “Going to our first tournament there was a war between the front and the back of the bus,” freshman Collin Caudle said. “We climbed through the overhead compartments and everyone was scared when Landon came in.” As the seniors leave highschool and move on, their memories with each other will always be there.

Baseball season is upon us and after finishing first in district last year the hopes are high for this season. The season started Feb.5, lighting up excitement among the players and coaches, leaving the rest of the school wondering how the season will go. “I think this season is going to go very well,” baseball assistant coach Clay Grubbs said. “I'm excited to see the young players step up and produce.” With all the talent and hardwork the boys have put in, it is expected to have a very successful season. “I think that the season is going to be good, we have a lot of benefits with the returning players,” sophomore David Hutson said. “I'm looking forward to playing Tatum, they are fun to play, while also being our biggest competition.” With the competition rolling in, the boys are not hesitant when it comes to working hard to achieve the goals they have set for themselves and the team as a whole. “ We are young, but I think we are going to go far in the playoffs, we just have to work on somethings.” freshman Jud Illingworth said. “Playing against Tatum and New Diana, since they are one of the hardest teams , gives us a challenge. But I'm most excited to make memories with the team.” By: A. Henigan
